Placentia Police Department in California in a press release published on Friday That 44-year-old Erin Garcia was on her way to her mother’s house with her daughter when she decided to leave despite apparently being drunk.

Police said the girl was concerned about her mother’s drunken driving and followed her up to the vehicle, grabbing the passenger’s door handle and urging her mother to stop.


Police said Garcia looked at the child and proceeded to drive the vehicle away, dragging the girl along with the vehicle for about 300 feet.

A male bystander and Garcia’s grandmother tried to stop Garcia and get him out of the vehicle. Police said that Garcia left and dragged the man with him for some distance, police said.

Police said they answered Grandma’s house, where they had found Garcia hiding behind some bushes in the backyard. Authorities try to detain Garcia But he resisted, kicked the officers.

The minor injured child and a passerby were taken to a nearby hospital.

Garcia was taken into custody, transferred to the Orange County Jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, endangering children, and battery against a peace officer.
