ADELE gave fans a rare treat tonight as she appeared live on Instagram and played an excerpt from her new album ’30’.
The 33-year-old superstar singer went makeup-free as she candidly chatted to over 100,000 fans on a livestream from her home in LA.
“I’m so excited for our new era, it’s been a long time coming,” she teased fans.
Adele then played a clip of her upcoming single Easy on Me – her first single in six years.
The Tottenham-born star admitted that she was concerned about getting into trouble with her management for leaking the song online ahead of its official release on 15 October.
But six years after her last album, Adele was eager to give her fans a sneak preview.
“There’s no gold in this river I’ve always washed my hands of,” she sang in the song.
“I know there’s hope in these waters, but I can’t bring myself to swim when I’m drowning in the silence, baby let me go…”
Fans rushed to ask the singer questions about her new music.
“What will my next album be based on? Divorce, babe, divorce,” she said.
The album is Adele’s first new music since her divorce from Simon Konecki, whom they parted with in April 2019 after seven years together.
“Writing My Music Has Been Therapeutic”
She also spoke about her mental health during their open and honest conversation.
“My mental health is great at the moment. I take it day in and day out and I address whatever comes to me,” she said.
“It definitely helps me feel better if I take my time. Writing my own music… yeah it’s definitely been therapeutic.
“I feel like I’ve lost appreciation for it. I found things I didn’t want to say out loud and talk about.”
She also gave fans a glimpse of her home life as she said that her eight-year-old son Angelo is “a very big boy now”.
Earlier this week, Adele bared her soul in a new Vogue interview ahead of the highly-anticipated release of her fourth studio album next month.
Covering the November issue of British and American the trendOf course, Adele said that her upcoming album was meant to answer her questions, explaining: “My son has a lot of questions. Really good questions, really innocent questions that I don’t have the answers to.
“‘Why can’t you still be together?’ I felt like I wanted to explain to him through this record, when he is in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I decided to voluntarily end my whole life in pursuit of my happiness.
“It made him really sad sometimes. And it’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.”
The devoted mother continued: “Obviously Simon and I never fought for him or anything, Angelo was like, ‘I don’t understand.’
Former East London girl Adele, who lives in a £7.7 million Beverly Hills mansion and claims 15 Grammy Awards, recently went Instagram official with boyfriend Rich Paul.
