Adele’s 2011 album 21 is the best-selling UK album of all time, BBC Radio 2’s Official All-Time Female Artist Chart revealed on Saturday.

The news comes as the 33-year-old singer released her new single Easy on Me on Friday ahead of her upcoming album 30, which is set to release on November 19.

BBC Radio 2 host Joe Whye said of the news: ‘Adele has charmed us from the very beginning with her voice, her songs and her personality.

Adele’s 21 achieved 5,007,000 sales, followed by Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black with 3,912,000 units sold.

Remaining in the top five include The Immaculate Collection (3,771,000) by Madonna, Come On Over (3,411,000) by Shania Twain and 25 by Adele (3,364,000).
