AJ Odudu has revealed that he worries about being forced to quit Strictly Come Dancing if he should test positive for COVID-19.
Speaking in a new interview about the show’s COVID-19 protocol, the 33-year-old presenter – who has been paired with Kai Widdington – explained: ‘What’s scary, is your chances of getting knocked out based on your dancing ability, Not the vote of the public, but based on the fact that you may have contracted the virus.’
AJ said: “It’s stressful,” before revealing that the show’s eight-hour rehearsal has left her feet “absolutely battered and hurt.”

talking to Grazia Magazine, AJ elaborated: ‘Guidelines and stuff like this are no stress. I am used to constantly testing [for COVID-19].’
She left: ‘[The thought of testing positive] Stressful, because I love Strictly. I wanted to do it earlier and now it’s my time.’
Regarding his painful feet, AJ said: ‘My feet! Oh my god, they are completely battered and hurt. I have blisters, cuts, bunions that are throbbing – I started suffering from the second day, it’s really intense.
‘I thought I was used to wearing heels. But I was used to walking in them; Dancing, jumping, running, not kicking.’
Ouch: The presenter also said that Strictly’s eight-hour rehearsal left her legs “absolutely battered and bruised.”
Elsewhere in the interview, AJ said of fellow 26-year-old Kai, ‘Kai is fantastic. As soon as I met him, I got into my dancing gear and it was time to leave, we didn’t even have time to take a cuppa.’
She also admitted that she felt like an underdog on the show, telling the magazine: ‘I have the least amount of experience. even tom [Fletcher] The stage has gone to school.
He continued: ‘I come from a working class background; We never went to behind school clubs or took modern dance classes. However… I am a TV presenter; I am used to the pressure of live TV and I like to be around people who are pretentious.
Underdog: AJ also admits feeling like an underdog for going on show, tells magazine: ‘I have the least experience’
AJ quipped: ‘At weddings I’m always the first person on the dance floor, I don’t mind making a fool of myself; I think I’m bringing to the table; Shameless! I’m bringing you shameless energy; That’s all I have to give.’
Giving an insight into the cast’s already close bond, AJ reveals: ‘You bond so quickly.
‘Greg Wise is making jam for everyone. John is making White Chocolate Brownies. I’m not going to bring food to the table, I’m not going to lie, but I’m conveying messages of positivity and inspiration, talking about pushing girls through pain and all that jazz!’
