But Amanda Burton proved that her ability to step into the shoes of Professor Sam Ryan in the BBC’s acclaimed drama 17 Years Away hasn’t dented her.

The 64-year-old actress, who made her debut as Sam in 1996, is returning to the series to celebrate its 25th anniversary and was seen on set in Liverpool earlier this week.

The six new episodes that Amanda is set to star in will mark the BBC One drama’s 25th anniversary.
