Apple hosted its annual fall event on Tuesday, which opened with the unveiling of a new iPad that’s three times more powerful than a Chromebook and six times more than an Android tablet.

Apple hosted an online event for the second time in 2020 since the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

But the virus hasn’t stopped the tech giant from sharing its latest and greatest products with the world.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said in a Statement: ‘The iPad has never been more essential for working, learning and communicating, and we are excited to bring one of the biggest updates to our most popular iPad ever.

‘With the powerful A13 Bionic, more engaging video calls with center stage, and double the storage, the new iPad delivers advanced capabilities, versatility, and simplicity at an incredible value.’

The iPad also supports the ‘Center Stage’ feature, which shifts the camera’s perspective to the real world around you.

Center Stage uses machine learning to adjust the front-facing ultra-wide camera during FaceTime video calls, but it’s only available on the iPad Pro model.

“As users move around, Center Stage automatically pans to bring the camera into focus,” Apple shared in a statement.

‘When other people join in, the camera recognizes them too, and easily zooms out to include them in the conversation. Center Stage makes video calls more natural in FaceTime as well as in third-party video-calling apps.

Apple tablets also include a True Tone display, which adjusts the color temperature to match the environment.

This is thanks to the advanced ambient light sensor that allows the facility to adjust the screen content to the color temperature of the room.

“True Tone on the new iPad makes images more natural and provides users with a more comfortable viewing experience in all-light environments,” Apple said.

Apple also announced a new iPad mini, which also saw several updates, which the tech giant says make it the most powerful iPad mini yet. 8.3-inch device features and full-screen display
