According to new reports, the upcoming new Apple Watch may be difficult to buy or may be delayed altogether.
The wearable is usually released in September alongside the new iPhone, and the same was expected to happen this year. Last year, it even managed to overtake the iPhone, getting its own schedule, while the handset’s launch was delayed until October.
But new reports suggest that Apple is having trouble making the watches, has been forced to halt production of them, and may have to delay the release until the issues are resolved.
The problems were reported by both Nikkei and Bloomberg, which said discussions were ongoing between Apple and its suppliers.
Apple is believed to be in trouble because of the complexities of a new design that came with the Apple Watch Series 7.
Reports have suggested that the display size will be increased and the look of the watch will be changed to give it better edges in line with the recent updates to the iPhone, iPad and iMac.
The Apple Watch hasn’t received any significant exterior design changes over the years. Last year’s watch was nearly identical from the outside, instead focusing on adding a blood oxygen sensor on the inside.
