Man says someone knocked on his door, tried to force inside
A suspected intruder was shot and killed during a home invasion attempt at an apartment complex in Gehna, Ohio, on Sunday night, police said.
A resident of the 800 block of Falcon Hunter Way called 911 to report a shootout around 8:31 p.m.

The person who reported the incident told the police that someone knocked on his door and on responding, a man with a gun tried to go inside. Then the person living in the apartment said that he shot the suspect and saw another man running. .
When Jewel’s officers responded to the scene, they found two people in the apartment and one person with a wound to the chest, lying on the ground.

Officers performed CPR until relief from Mifflin Township medics. The man who shot him was then taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police is investigating the matter including those involved in the incident. They will work with the Franklin County Coroner’s office to determine the cause of death as well as identify the alleged suspect.
