He said: ‘So as many of you know Leo was booked for his operation about six weeks in advance and because he had a cold, they weren’t able to do the operation.

‘We just got a call and it looks like he’s going to have an operation this Thursday.

‘So it’s a bit of a concern but at least he’s a little older now. Previously he was very young and stuff like that. He is a bit older and they clearly know what they are doing.’

He added: ‘They wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t needed so Sophie would have had to take it. I am not allowed to take him. I can go there if he has to stay I can go for a few hours but hopefully he doesn’t have to stay in. You are so strong, not Leo.’

Leo is suffering from a hernia and although the doctor initially hoped it would go away on its own, he needed a procedure to avoid it causing further damage to the line.

Jake has previously said: ‘So it turns out that he needs a small operation, he is not in pain, but where it is in his groin, it can strangle and go to his testicles.

‘It is very worrying but we have to wait about six weeks to get in touch with the hospital.

‘But it’s better to sort it out if it can cause problems in the future and he seems very happy that, as I said, he is not in pain.

‘It’s better to sort it out, it’s just worrisome. I have so many lovely messages, so thank you for reassuring me.’

During a question and answer session with fans, the singer also refused to say whether he had the COVID-19 vaccination.
