Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood turned to country music star Billy Ray Cyrus for the show’s big return last night.
The 55-year-old blue-eyed host embraced a luscious brown mullet as he played a guitar and line-danced to Billy’s smash hit Achy Breaky Heart.
Noel Fielding, Matt Lucas and Prue Leith also donned tasseled jackets and early ’90s hairstyles for the vocals, which transformed the song into “flakey pastry tart.”
The first episode descended into chaos when Amanda and Chiggs’ showstopper cake collapsed.
It was a dramatic start to the series as not one, but two cakes fell on the floor.
Chiggs, a 40-year-old sales manager, saw his creation crumble after being assigned the task of making the “Anti-Gravity Illusion Cake”.
Matt Lucas helped lead Chiggs’ teapot to the judges, as he warned: “It’s gonna break, it’s gonna break…”
A few seconds after putting it on the table and letting it go, the cake fell apart and fell on top.
Meanwhile, Met Police detective Amanda’s cake, 56, managed to stay upright while it was tested by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
But as she returned to her baking bench, Amanda’s cake fell dramatically to the floor.
Elsewhere, Jurgen won Star Baker, while Tom was knocked out of the competition in the first week.
