Biden approval hits new high of 46%

A new poll has found that President Joe Biden’s approval rating has improved to 46 percent, its highest level since December.

According to a Politico-Morning Consult poll published on Wednesday, 85 percent of Democrats said they approved of Biden.

Approval of the president remains low among Republicans, with only 10 percent saying they approved of his work.

Among the independent candidates, the President’s approval rating was 35 percent.

The poll comes a week after an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll showed the president’s approval rating rose from 36 percent to 45 percent in July.

A poll conducted by Gallup last month showed that approval of the president has risen to 44 percent – their highest in a year.

Mr Biden’s ratings continue to improve in the new poll.

His approval rating has dropped below 40 percent in recent months in May, June and July as inflation spiked after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Recent polls have shown Democrats to gain momentum ahead of the November midterm, low ratings for their economic management come amid high inflation.

The new poll also showed that if the midterm elections were held today, 46 percent said they would vote for Democrats while 41 percent said they would vote for Republicans.

However, 14 per cent of those surveyed said they did not know who they would vote for if mid-term elections were held today.

Republicans have faced backlash ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade this summer, ending protected access to abortion.
