Despite battling a cold, President Biden upped his schedule this weekend with a masked dinner in town and plans to attend an event at the Kennedy Center.

During Friday’s speech on the disappointing jobs report, Biden spoke in a hoarse voice and coughed several times during the event.

Biden explains cough, hoarse voice, says grandson gave him a cold

Granthshala News’ Peter Ducey asked the president about his health after his remarks ended, and Biden replied that he picked up a cold from his grandson.

“I’m fine, I have a test every day – a COVID test. I’m checking for all strains. I have a one-and-a-half year old grandson who had a cold, who loved to kiss his pop,” Biden said.

Later on Friday, White House physician Kevin O’Connor issued an assessment that refuted Biden’s claim that he gets daily COVID tests, but confirmed the president’s cold diagnosis.

“As is clearly evident, President Biden is experiencing some increased nasal congestion this week,” O’Connor wrote. “It can be heard in his voice and he is feeling the colloquial famous ‘frog’s neck’.”

“The investigation includes a comprehensive respiratory panel that includes 19 common respiratory pathogens to include COVID-19, other coronaviruses, influenzas, streptococcus,” O’Connor said. “All these tests were negative. Including the above, he has been tested for COVID-19 thrice this week.”

Despite his first cough, Biden was seen dining in a private room at the new restaurant by Imperfecto’s Enrique Limardo on Friday night. Biden was not seen wearing a mask when entering or leaving the restaurant.
