Pete Bennett has announced that he has ‘finally’ divorced his wife Gemma Rattus – better known as Cheri – after 11 years.

The Big Brother star, 39, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday via FaceTime with a candid snap of the couple celebrating.

Clarifying that the pair remain cordial, Pete ended his caption: ‘Love you ex-wife lol’.

He wrote, ‘It’s official me and @rattusgemma are finally divorced after 11 years. Today my decree has become absolute..

‘Great to celebrate on FaceTime but the next time we meet there will be a proper party. Love you x wife lol’.

Cheri cemented their civil ties by replying: ‘❤️ More than a decade married, and still talking and in love with each other. I’d say it’s great! ️’

The pair married in 2010 and screened their ceremony on the TV program Four Weddings.

Earlier this year, Pete described how he struggled to maintain his relationship after his Big Brother romance with late ex-girlfriend Nikki Graham.

talking to Warmth Following his death in April at the age of 38, Pete described how the couple felt ‘under pressure’ when they left the Big Brother house in 2006 and came under public scrutiny.

Nikki’s body was found at her London home on 10 April, a day after she was discharged from Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester after a three-week stay, with her closest and dearest insisting she was ‘very Early’ was released.

‘Everybody wanted one of us and we were doing big interviews together as a couple but people were watching our every move and it was so much pressure – I guess without telling Big Brother he’d be there for me Too much to handle!’ Pete accepted.
