‘Traps’ is the first taste of ‘Alpha Games’, the band’s follow-up to 2016’s ‘Hymn’, released on April 29, 2022.

The single is a frenzied affair that recounts the post-punk urgency of their 2005 “Silent Alarm”. In a statement, frontman Kel Okreke explained why he chose to lead with it.

“From the moment we wrote ‘Traps’, we knew people heard the first thing from this album; playing it at the soundcheck on our last tour before it ended and hearing how it sounded in those big rooms and outside. was,” he said.
