A teenager has been charged with the murder of five-year-old Logan Mwangi, whose body was found in a river in South Wales.
South Wales Police said the 14-year-old boy had not been named because of his age and was to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court later.
Logan – also known as Logan Williams – was found dead in the Ogmore River near Pondy Park in Bridgend after police were called after reports of a missing child at 5.45 a.m. on July 31.
He was taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital, where his death was confirmed.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mark O’Shea, said: “This is a very painful matter for all involved and I extend my deepest condolences to Logan’s family and friends.
“This remains a comprehensive and sensitive investigation by the leading crime investigation team and I am grateful for the support and understanding of the local community while we continue to gather evidence across multiple scenes.”
A provisional test date for all January 31 next year, with a time estimate of four weeks.
