Boy, 14, ‘murdered’ in ‘shocking act of violence’ in train station

A 14-year-old boy was killed in a “shocking act of violence” at a busy Glasgow railway station, police today launched an investigation into the murder.

Justin McLaughlin was found with fatal injuries at the High Street train station in Glasgow, Scotland, at around 3.45 pm on Saturday.

The schoolboy was reportedly stabbed – the Queen Elizabeth died tragically after being taken to the University Hospital.

Detectives described Justin’s murder as a “shocking act of violence.”

The investigation into Justin’s brutal murder is ongoing as police appeal to the public to assist in their interrogation.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Geddes, of Police Scotland’s principal investigative team and senior investigative officer, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Justin’s family and friends.

“His family has asked for his privacy to be respected at this very difficult time, and he is being supported by expert authorities.

“While the inquiry is at an early stage, what we do know is that there was an incident at the High Street train station and we are sure there will be people who may have seen something that led to it.

“The area must have been busy with members of the public and commuters and we are urging anyone who has any information, no matter how small, to contact the police.”

Detective Inspector Mark Francie of the British Transport Police said: “It was a shocking act of violence in broad daylight, which has seen a boy tragically lose his life.

“We are working closely with Police Scotland and doing everything we can to find those responsible, and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone in the area at the time, to contact us as soon as possible. Do.

“We will increase our uniformed patrols in the local area in the coming days to help reassure the traveling public.”

Bereaved friends and relatives have penned touching tributes to the tragic teen on social media.

One devastated family member said: “Justin McLaughlin fly high. Miss you so much.

“The world is so bad and it’s so sad what happened to you. You were too young to die, you still had a life ahead of you and plans.

“We are all going to miss you so much, there is not going to be a single day that we will forget about you.”

A friend described him as “the most precious gentleman giant” and said: “Heaven has received a good one, that’s for sure.”

Emergency services had rushed to the scene of the stabbing yesterday.

Following an alert on Saturday afternoon, forensic teams searched for leads, leading to suspension of train services and the closure of the road outside the station.
