The Senator star didn’t hold back and was ruled out of Saturday’s game after Kings winger and former Ranger Brendan Lemieux scored match penalties, Tkachuk, 22, said after Lemieux cut his arm during a fight.
“That’s one time I’m going to answer it,” said Takachuk, Per Ottawa Sun, “It was the most unkind thing anyone could ever do. This man, you can ask any of his mates, no one wants to play with him. This man is a bad man and a bad partner, he himself all the time focuses on.

“The boy is just a joke. He shouldn’t be in the league. This guy is ruthless. No other team wants him. He’ll keep begging to stay in the NHL, but no other team wants him, he’s a complete joke.” I can’t even wrap my head around it. People just don’t do it. He’s just a bad guy.
“It’s disrespectful. Kids don’t even do that anymore. Kids do it. I don’t even know what he was thinking. He’s just a full brick head. He doesn’t have anything on top. Bad man, bad.” player, but what a joke that.”
The NHL’s Player Safety Department announced Sunday that Lemieux, 25, has been offered a Zoom hearing over the incident. No date has been set.
The Kings won the game 4–2, after two goals from Karl Grundstrom, to snap a five-game skid. Kings coach Todd McClellan was concerned that Lemieux could be suspended.
“We need to play him every night,” McClellan told reporters. “We need him to play every minute that he gets. Offensively, defensively, physically, emotionally. And if we lose him for any length of time, we’ll miss him. And He has to understand how important he has become.”
Rangers traded Lemieux to the Kings in March for a 2021 fourth-round pick, which Rangers used on high school forward Brody Lamb.
