The upcoming album, her first since 2018’s highly acclaimed “By the Way, I Forgive You,” was recorded once again at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A with producers Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings.

On October 1 via Low Country Sound/Electra Records, ‘In Silent Days’ is full of reflection, but “mostly it’s a celebration”, Carlyle said of the album.

“This album sounds like drama mixed with joy,” she said in a press release. “It is resistance and gratitude, righteous anger and radical forgiveness. It is the voice of these silent days.”

Additional contributors to the album include longtime collaborators and bandmates Tim and Phil Hansroth, as well as drummer and percussionist Chris Powell and string player Josh Newman. Special guest Jess Wolfe and Holly Lessig of Lucius provide backing vocals on the track ‘You and Me on the Rock’.

“Never before [Hanseroth] The twins and I wrote an album in a time of such uncertainty and quiet solitude,” Carlyle continued. “I never thought I’d feel so exposed and awkward as an artist, without dress armor, applause. The thrill of and without the stage of the sacred stage.

She continued: “Despite all this, the songs flowed – pure and unaffected, loud and proud, joyful and mournful. Written in my barn at a time of deep and personal reckoning.”

To accompany the announcement, Carlyle has shared a music video for the lead single ‘Right On Time’, directed by friend Star Courteney Cox. You can watch the video below.
