After spending a week in the hospital for unexplained, debilitating abdominal pain, actress Sharon Glas was advised by her doctors to abstain from alcohol.

The then 72-year-old TV star stayed for a full 36 hours without touching the luggage.

Now 78, the sex symbol of the 1980s wrote the memoir -???? Apparently there were complaints, a???? (Simon & Schuster) on December 7, in which she recalls the medical advice that prompted her to become sober permanently on May 8, 2015.

Another factor was a video of his 70th birthday celebration on a high ceiling in downtown Los Angeles. Looking at it again two years later, she writes, â???? stopped me on the progress of my addiction.

At one point in the video, Glas is seen yelling at one of the guests: â????I donâ????t give af-k about your kids!â????

The irony won’t be lost on die-hard fans of Glessâ???? police drama. Just opposite clean-living mom Mary-Beth Lacey (played by) Tyne Daily), Glas???? The character Cagney lives alone and kills the bottle as a means of coping with the stress of his failed romantic life and the grief caused by his father’s death.

In a parallel universe to my real life â??¦ I didn’t know where to go or what to do about my feelings, â???? Glas recalls in his book. He believes that, because of his own experience with wine, he gave his best performance in a special episode where Cagney goes from drinking from a glass to swiping straight from the bottle.

Glas, who once had a failing rehab facility, said her drug of choice was mostly martinis.

She channeled her passion for cocktails with a martinisa???? described as a love affair???? And Jimmy Beam also admits to having an interest in whiskey.

When it felt like death was the inevitable outcome, she went cold turkey and started attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings – ???? And writes that she has stayed on the wagon since then.

But Glas confesses that she still has a craving for alcohol.
