A 15-year-old girl was shot in a car with her uncle in a road rage incident Wednesday night in Oakland, California, who took her to a hospital where she could not be saved.
The girl has been identified as Shamara Young.
The city’s top police officer, Leron Armstrong, said there was a brief argument that resulted in one vehicle setting fire to another, KTVU told. The report said that the girl was hit several times.

Officers are looking for the gunman who was in the Acura car. The killing marks the city’s 109th year, matching its total since 2020. Armstrong said the escalation of violence was not a police issue, but a “community issue”.
