The BBC has released the first stills of the upcoming Call the Midwife Christmas special.

Images show Helen George’s nurse Trixie Franklin and Miriam Margolis’ mother Mildred cheering for Christmas in London.

On Friday it was announced that Nurse Trixie and the rest of the nonnets house would return for the festive installment of the BBC’s much-loved show.

Also in the picture was Fred Buckle of Cliff Paris, the caretaker of the House of Nonnets.

Leonie Elliott’s Lucille Anderson was pictured in a photo wrapped up in a warm look.

Fan favorite Reggie Jackson (Daniel Laurie) was also seen in a particularly festive image.

Wearing his pajamas and proudly pointing to the snowman he made, Reggie is in his element among the capital’s snow-capped streets.

The latter two photos were initially released on Friday on Call the Midwife’s official Instagram page.

The accompanying caption read: ‘Hello everyone! Today we got the first sneak-peek photos from the new Call the Midwife Christmas special — featuring Daniel Lowry (Reggie) and Leonie Elliot (Lucille)! We have questions…

Of course, we’re not going to tell you what happens in this episode, except to say that our very own sweet Lucille has a lot to prepare for… We’re all so proud of this year’s Christmas episode is, and can just ‘ wait for you to see it!’

Production for Series 11 is well underway and UK fans can expect its return in January 2022, soon after the Christmas special airs.

In the clip posted on social media, Stephen, who plays Dr. Turner, says: ‘Can you believe this? Again on the sets and we are shooting for the series…’

Before being interrupted by co-star Cliff, who wore a Santa costume. She said: ‘And it’s Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone!’

Speaking to the camera, Laura Main said: ‘We’re back! We are filming ‘Series 11’.

‘Series 10 just aired so it’s an unusual situation, we’re not usually airing and filming at the same time, but what a boost…’

‘It was great to read all the comments we’ve seen.’
