These three countries will join seven other African countries—South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini—that were moved by the federal government to ban travelers from Friday.


This policy prohibits entry into Canada of all foreign nationals who have traveled to these countries in the past 14 days.

The federal cabinet discussed the situation around Omicron in a closed cabinet meeting on Tuesday morning.
