A Pennsylvania woman who allegedly threatened to “hang” Nancy Pelosi during the January 6 Capitol riots has been ordered back to prison ahead of her trial.
Federal prosecutors had reported that Pauline Bauer was refusing to comply with court orders, leading a judge to revoke her pre-trial release at a court hearing on Friday.
Ms Bauer reportedly refused to surrender her passport, verify her address, call pre-trial services to inspect her home or check in once a week, all of the terms of her release, the report said. Have given. Court News.
Posted by Scott MacFarlane of NBC 4 Washington Twitter That Bauer claims he is a “sovereign citizen” is one of a growing movement of people who believe that the laws do not apply to him. During the hearing, she told the judge that she was not under court surveillance and denied her right to keep her in custody. “I have my right to self-determination,” she told the judge, “I do not agree to any tacit agreement that puts me back in the water. I am on land.”
US District Judge Trevor McFadden did not accept Ms Bauer’s arguments. He told her: “I don’t want to lock you up […] I am not concerned that you are a threat to the community, but I am deeply concerned that you are prepared to abide by the terms of your release.”
He then ordered her to be sent to prison before his trial. “The problem is that she’s not going to do what I instruct her to do,” McFadden said. “MS. Bauer is going to be imprisoned now.”
The verdict provoked a furious response from Ms. Bauer, who was taken from the courtroom shouting: “No! I’m not going back to jail! Why are you doing this?”
Ms. Bauer has been charged with nonviolent misdemeanor offenses related to the January 6 Capitol riots. NS daily mail reports that body camera footage showed him shouting at a police officer: “Bring Nancy Pelosi over here now… we wanna hang that f***ing b****”.
“You bring them out or we’re coming in,” is told, according to the transcript of the police body camera. “Bring them out now. They are criminals. They need to hang on.”
