Cat Power announces new ‘Covers’ album with Frank Ocean and The Pogues tracks

Cat Power has announced details of a new cover album – hear her version of the track by Frank Ocean and The Pogues below.

‘Cover’ will be released through Domino’s on January 14, 2022, and will also feature songs by Iggy Pop, Nick Cave, Billie Holiday and more.

Ahead of the album’s release, Cat Power shared a version of Frank Ocean’s 2012 track ‘Bad Religion’, which she also performed on it. Late Late Show with James Corden Last night (October 7th).

In a statement, the singer revealed that the ‘Bad Religion’ cover debuted when she opted for her own song ‘In Your Face’ from the track while performing live to relieve herself of the pain of the track. Started singing the song. .

“That song was bringing me down,” she said, “so I started taking out lyrics from ‘Bad Religion’ and singing them instead of being super sad.
