Catch a McCallister cameo in the first trailer for the ‘Home Alone’ reboot

Film stars jojo rabbitArchie Yates in the role previously played by Macaulay Culkin. In the new chapter, called Home Sweet Home AloneIn this, Yates plays Max, whose home is attacked by a pair of thieves (Rob Delaney and Ellie Kemper) while their family is in Tokyo.

Isling Bee, Pete Holmes and saturday night liveKenan Thompson also appears in the film, as does Devin Rattray, who played Kevin’s brother Buzz McCallister in the original films.


In the trailer, Buzz is seen as a local policeman in Max’s neighbourhood. Watch the full trailer below.

An official synopsis for the film reads: “Max Mercer is a mischievous and resourceful young boy who is left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays.

“So when a married couple attempting to reclaim a priceless inheritance sets their eyes on the Mercer family home, it’s up to Max to protect it from trespassers … and do whatever he can to keep them out. He will do too.

“Hilarious hijinks of epic proportions ensu, but despite the utter chaos, Max learns that there really is no place like Home Sweet Home.”


home aloneThe director of Chris Columbus called the project “an insult to the art of cinema” in 2020.

“Reboots are just silly to me,” said Columbus Independent. “When I read about something called rock alone, they were going to do it with Ryan – it was an R-rated home alone A film about stone pelters – I thought to myself… it’s an insult to the art of cinema.”

Home Sweet Home Alone Will launch on Disney+ on November 12.
