CFL players in wild brawl with fan after hopping into stands

A brawl broke out between a Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan and Toronto Argonauts players and surfaced online on Sunday night, involving the teams’ CFL semifinal game in which a player punched a fan. Toronto Police is investigating the incident. according to sportsnetWhile a CFL spokesperson said the league was reviewing the incident.

The incident occurred after the game when a group of Argonauts players – initiated by defensive back Chris Edwards – climbed the railing from the field into the stands and waved their hands at someone off-camera. The video also showed at least three other Toronto players climbing the railing.

Then, when a fan wearing a Tiger-Cats jersey pushed Edwards, he punched back and connected with wide receiver Dijon Brissette to push the fan until he reached a wall against which A security guard had pinned him.

But the fighting did not stop there. Heckling by fans as the rest of Toronto players were given a separate room, with one section of the metal gate falling off when a team member dropped his bag and walked back toward the fans behind barriers to continue.

The Tiger-Cats defeated the Argonauts 27–19, and advanced to the Gray Cup, overcoming a 12–0 deficit at the start of the first half. They will face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on December 12 in the league championship.
