Australian police say they have “grave fear” for a four-year-old girl who went missing from a remote camp four days ago.
When her mother woke up in the morning, she was missing. police Say. His sleeping bag was also missing.
An extensive air, sea and land search is underway for the girl, with police saying they “will leave no stone unturned” as they urged members of the public to come forward.
Murder and major crime forensic investigators are assisting local authorities. Police have not ruled out that she may have been abducted.
“Every hour that passes with a four-year-old in this environment … is very worrying,” said Western Australia Police Inspector John Munday.
“That’s why we just have serious apprehensions.”
“We are focused on identifying any leads, we have our best investigators on this, the best investigators we have on this through (state emergency services) and other volunteers,” he said.
Police released a photo of Cleo’s sleeping bag and the slipsuit she wore to help with the search. She had gone to a remote area with her family for a weekend camping trip.
