Coldplay have said that they will not play Glastonbury in 2022.

talking to Granthshala In this week’s Big Read, Chris Martin stated that the group has no plans to attend the ceremony next year.

Earlier this week, the group announced a huge, permanent world tour, but revealed that playing Glastonbury is not part of those plans.


“Gleastonbury is our spiritual home, but your parents also say you have to leave home sometimes”, he said. Granthshala.

Earlier this week (October 14), Coldplay announced the details of their 2022 World Stadium tour with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.

Back in 2019 the band announced that they were taking time to consider how they would travel in the future in order to make it as eco-friendly as possible.

Coldplay also unveiled details of a new livestream performance of their new album, ‘Music of the Spheres’.

The group has teamed up with Amazon Music and will deliver the sets live from the new Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle next week. The show will also mark the official opening of the arena.

Fans can watch the show live on Amazon Music, Amazon Music Twitch channel and Prime Video. The event will take place via reruns on October 22 at 7 pm PDT or on October 23 at 6 pm BST.
