The suspect, a Colorado shopkeeper who police say deployed bear spray on Sunday, when confronted by employees at a Greely Walmart, has been arrested.

Vince Joe Pacheco, 29, is set to face third-degree assault on an at-risk veteran, felony robbery and other charges, KDVR.com reported.

Greeley Police described a chaotic scene at Walmart. Police said Pacheco was confronted by store associates after allegedly shoplifting and applying bear spray, killing three of them. Police said they tried to subdue the suspect and at one point, Pacheco hit a 70-year-old employee with a bear spray can.

Police responded to the scene on reports of a potential man with a gun at the store, and later determined there was no gun. The report said that the employees were treated on the spot.

Greeley police responded to the scene and later arrested the suspect.

Police told Denver Channel that Pacheco ran from the scene to a nearby store to try to wash his face, and he eventually surrendered. The incident happened around 1:35 pm and finally around 9 pm he surrendered
