Damon Albarn has admitted that he may have accidentally eaten a monkey and a dog while on tour.

The Blur and the Gorillaz frontman, who is due on the road next month for a special piano tour in the UK, is convinced on his previous trips around the world that he ate unusual animals.

Talking to comedian Alan Carr about him life’s a Beach Podcast, he said: “I may have eaten dog in Korea, but I think I accidentally ate monkey in Nigeria too. I was given this pepper soup and this little hand floated upstairs. I did not mean that!”

Albarn also reported that the “strange” dish he sampled was at a “frog specialty restaurant” in China, which had unusual slaughter methods.

“I think the weirdest thing I was served was in the middle of China and it was a frog specialty restaurant,” he said

“A waiter came in with a plastic bowl of live frogs and said choose your frog…

Elsewhere, he revealed that during his stay in Iceland, he consumed seals, cured and roasted ram’s heads and fermented sharks “buried in the ground, urinated and left for six months”.

Meanwhile, Albarn recently performed ‘Darkness to Light’ live The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon In support of his new solo album, ‘The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows’.
