Deftones launch their own cannabis collection with The Passenger Box

Deftones has launched its own cannabis collection – watch the preview video below.

The band announced the first version of the line – The Passenger Box – on social media yesterday (November 24), teaming up with California-based cannabis brand Golden Barn for the venture.

“Throughout our careers, it has been an ongoing mission to provide our fans with quality products,” the group wrote in a statement. “Whether it’s music, beer or tequila, we put in the time, care and effort to make sure we’re delivering goods to market. [has] We have all examined thoroughly.


“The obvious next step in this progress is cannabis. In the near future, we will be introducing many different products in this vertical [Golden Barn], and we are excited to unveil our first: The Passenger Box.”

He continued: “Our line of cannabis is in stock today at nine locations in California. More will be distributed across the state over the next week. Stay tuned.”

According to an official announcement video, the Passenger Box strain has a “very nice scent” and “tastes exactly what it smells like”. The clip also previews buds, concentrates, edibles, and vapors from the first installment.

Creating Deftones-branded packaging, meanwhile, was said to be “a dreadful process” for the group, which enlisted Frank Maddox – the designer behind their previous album art – to create the graphics.


Passenger Box takes its name from the band’s ‘White Pony’ track ‘Passenger’ and is the logo of the 2000 album.

Earlier this week, Deftones was nominated for the Grammys 2022 in the Best Rock Performance (‘Oms’) and Best Metal Performance (‘Genesis’) categories. Additionally, the Mike Shinoda remix of ‘Passenger’ is up for Best Remix Recording.
