Weak Democrats running in the tight midterm race will not say whether they oppose amnesty for immigrants who enter the US illegally through the southern border.

Fox News Digital contacted more than two dozen Democratic members, asking whether they would oppose efforts to provide a path to citizenship for all illegal immigrants currently living in the United States.


More than 200,000 migrants came through the border in August alone, and border officials face more than two million people crossing into the US this fiscal year. After the record number of crossings, no Democrats responded whether they believed the millions of migrants in the US should be granted amnesty.

Vice President Kamala Harris recently claimed the border is secure and blamed the administration under former President Trump for the current state of the immigration system.

“The border is secure. We also have a broken immigration system, in particular, the last four years before we arrived, and that needs to be fixed,” said Harris, who is in charge of addressing the “root causes” . Crisis on the border, told NBC News.

Last week, Fox News Digital asked the same set of vulnerable Democrats whether they think the border is safe, receiving only one response from a member of the House living in a border state.

“My message remains the same. The border is not safe, and we need to do more to prevent migrants from coming into the United States,” D-Texas Representative Henry Kueller told Fox News Digital.

The border crisis and the influx of illegal immigrants into the US received renewed attention Wednesday when Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla. sent a plane full of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, a famous vacation spot for the wealthy.

Despite DeSantis’ assurances that the migrants traveled to the beach town voluntarily, many Democrats were not happy with his move. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., slammed the GOP governor, calling it a form of “kidnapping,” while Hillary Clinton compared it to “human trafficking.”

President Biden, who has yet to visit the southern border since taking office in 2021, addressed the move of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute gala.

A record number of illegal migrants have entered through the southern border.

“Republicans are playing politics with humans, using them as props. What they’re doing is wrong, it’s un-American, it’s reckless,” Biden said on Thursday.

“The Biden-Harris administration continues to ignore and deny the historic crisis at our southern border that has endangered and overwhelmed Texas communities for nearly two years,” said Governor Greg Abbott, D-Texas., who is from his border state. is redirecting migrants to Democrat-run cities such as New York City, Chicago and Washington DC, it said in a statement last week.
