A Detroit man last week knocked his 75-year-old employer unconscious after seeing his paycheck and he was underpaid, officials said.

Keith Demetrius Taylor, 32, was caught in surveillance video kicking his boss to the ground and repeatedly kicking the 75-year-old in the head and face as he struggled to stand, FOX2 Detroit reported.

According to the station, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said, “This brutal and unprovoked attack on a senior citizen shakes the consciousness.”

Officials said Taylor, who worked for a landscaping company, had just finished mowing a lawn in Rochester Hills, Michigan, when she asked for her paycheck. When Taylor reportedly got annoyed at the paycheck, believing she was underpaid.

According to officials, Taylor abused the 75-year-old man before attacking him and continued to shout after the man was knocked down.

Taylor was charged Thursday with intent to cause bodily harm less than murder.

Taylor has a lengthy rap sheet, which includes outstanding warrants for assault with intent to cause bodily harm less than murder, grievous assault, and three traffic warrants.

The station reported that he has previously pleaded guilty to charges of drugs and endangerment in Phoenix, Ariz., domestic violence in Scottsdale, Ariz., and assault in Detroit.
