Hammer’s father, who worked in investment banking before acquiring the family firm Occidental Petroleum, died Sunday.

A representative for the family confirmed the news in a statement on Tuesday: ‘Michael Hammer has passed away after a long, difficult battle with cancer.’

The spokeswoman said the millionaire oil mogul is ‘now at peace.’

In addition to his son Armie, 36, Michael is survived by his wife Misty and youngest son Victor, 34. He also leaves behind an ex-wife in Dru Ann Mobley, Armie and Victor’s mother. The couple divorced in 2012 after 27 years of marriage.
