Former President Donald Trump’s new social media platform Truth Social was accessed by Twitter users within hours of its announcement and before it was officially opened to new users to sign up.
The accounts were created under the usernames “donaldtrump” and “micpens” and the “donaldjtrump” handle was hacked or captured by someone to mock the former president.
Mr Trump announced on Wednesday that he was launching a media network – the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) – which includes a social media platform called “Truth Social”, which he said was “to the tyranny of Big Tech”. Trying to stand up”. ”
The former president was banned from several major social media platforms following the Capitol riots, when pro-Trump mobs stormed Congress in an effort to prevent authentication of President Joe Biden’s election victory.
Just hours after the announcement, Twitter users managed to hijack a beta-version of the platform with apparently fake accounts for Mr Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence.
The post pinned to user “donaldjtrump” was an image of a pooping pig, which appears to be trying to mock the former president.
The new platform is said to launch next year, and Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington posted a statement on Twitter saying that the app will be able to be pre-ordered in the App Store by next month.
While Donald Trump Jr. told Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Wednesday that the platform will be in the beta testing phase for the next several weeks, the site still appears accessible.
Daily Dot Tech reporter Michael Thelen tweeted That he was able to set up an account on former President Donald Trump’s new social media website ‘Truth Social’ using the handle @donaldtrump. Although the site is not officially open, a URL allowing users to sign up was discovered”.
NS terms of Service Off Truth Social says the network bans the “excessive use of capital letters”, which Mr Trump employed frequently during his time on Twitter.
Washington Post tech reporter Drew Harwell tweeted that “Anyone can create an account on Trump’s social network Truth Social using a publicly available link. I literally just registered “MiCpens”. The site hasn’t even launched yet and it’s already pretty vulnerable. Is”.
The beta testing site was later taken offline.
