the former Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., Joined “The Story” on Thursday to answer for basketball star LeBron James, supporting the move to Atlanta for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

COLLINS: Look, I love watching LeBron James play basketball. When the issue comes up [is] He is mistaken because he has not read the bill. He Read the talking points quickly. To say how this is going to affect minority voting in some way, Martha, I challenge you or anyone else, show me in this bill that it will affect or harm minority voting, or for that matter There will be a vote. We have expanded the number of hours, we have secured our vote.

It is not about this vote. It’s about ending a statement to say that things are happening in Republican states, and especially in Georgia, that aren’t happening right now, and Major League Baseball gets stuck in the middle of it. And I think that over time, this will be a turning point, I think now in this culture, where we can have an honest discussion about election law, which is the only thing that has happened here, but it Is in a position to say, ‘Well, what’s best for the people who vote?’ And not a agenda being pushed to a narrative of voter suppression.
