Back in February, the actor and former wrestler said he would still consider running for the presidency in the future if it was “what the people wanted”. However, now it appears he may have a change of heart.

Today (October 23), Johnson took to Instagram following an interview Vanity Fair To answer a recent poll that showed 46 percent of Americans would vote for him if he decided to run for office.

“The conversation always swirls when it comes to running for POTUS one day I have,” he wrote. “The latest poll showed that 46% of Americans would support me for the presidency.

“For my @vanityfair interview, I spent a lot of time with my author (and tequila-drinking friend :), Chris Heath, about my honest feelings about this incredible support I could potentially get. But here’s The truth is / 46% of Americans are too humble to support me being president and it really makes me sit down and I shake my head in wonder.”

He continued: “But at the end of the day, I don’t know the first thing about politics. I care a lot about my country. And I care about every fucking American who bleeds red – and that’s all. No confusion here. I may have some leadership qualities, but that doesn’t necessarily make me a great presidential candidate. And that’s where I am today.

“I’m not a politician so I don’t care which street you live on or which side you sit on. Core values matter. Work hard, take care of your family, be kind to people, in your name Be proud, be proud of your two hands, be inclusive and respect everyone and don’t give rubbish.”

“I’m not a politician, but it’s true,” he concluded.

Johnson’s remarks come after he said back in 2017 that he was “seriously considering” running for president of the United States. He revealed this during an interview The Ellen Show With Kevin Hart.

At the time, Hart said why he would vote for The Rock. “You know, in the world we live in today, you’re seeing the real impact that real people like Dwayne have, and one thing about him is that he’s very serious when it comes to spreading that love. He talks of laughter and selling life on a positive level,” he said.

“If he had put himself in that position, he would have supported me wholeheartedly… I know where his heart is. I really know him. So I know if he had put himself in that position.” If it is for the betterment of the people, I can only appreciate and support them to do so.

Meanwhile, Johnson recently made his white-hot rap debut on Tech N9ne’s latest single ‘Face Off’.
