This is the shocking moment when an e-scooter rider was sent flying after hitting a car door as it suddenly opened.
Footage shows YouTuber Ross Fonteyn riding up to a black Ford Fiesta parked in Streatham, London.
Without warning, the car door pops open – right on the way to Ross’s scooty.
The YouTuber soars through the air, getting off his wheels and landing on the other side of the road.
He can then be seen wincing in pain as he limps down towards Ankush.
The video was filmed back in August, but has just been uploaded to Ross’s YouTube channel, Underachiever’s Journal.
The woman who opened the door quickly jumped out of her car and helped Ross collect his belongings.
She was also very apologetic and immediately accepted the responsibility.
Meanwhile Ross was calm and forgave the woman.
He added: “I was fine, a few scratches and scuffs but nothing bad.”
Drivers are expected to check that their path is clear before opening the door of their car.
However, it is illegal to drive an e-scooter on the road.
Sales of machines increased by 71 percent during the pandemic and police confiscated thousands of them illegally.
However, they may be allowed to be used on roads ‘within the next 12 months’.
Anyone riding on the roads currently faces a £300 fine, six points and confiscation of the machine.
