Airline EasyJet has launched a recruitment drive aimed at inducting people above the age of 45 to join its cabin crew.

Parents whose children have left the family home or started a career and are looking for a new career later in life are encouraged to apply.

The airline said it has seen a 27% increase in cabin crew over the age of 45 over the past four years, including a 30% increase in those over 60 in the past year.

The new campaign follows research by EasyJet which suggested that more and more people aged 45 would want to take on a new challenge after leaving home with their children.

The recruitment drive has been launched with a series of advertisements featuring real-life cabin crew who have joined EasyJet over the past year.

Michael Brown, director of cabin services for easyJet, said: “Our people are at the heart of everything we do and it is the warm welcome and excellent customer service that our cabin crew are renowned for.”
