The Tesla chief on Monday responded to a tweet by his rival Jeff Bezos with a silver medal emoji, as he overtook the Amazon founder in the race to become the world’s richest person.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk’s personal wealth rose to $222 billion after the entrepreneur increased the value of SpaceX. Bezos has a net worth of $191.6 billion.

Musk’s candid jibe was in response to Bezos’ post about a 1999 article that criticized Amazon and predicted the e-commerce giant’s downfall. The article described Bezos as “just another middleman” and said that the idea that he “has started a new business paradigm is foolish”.

The age of the article was not good. Hinting at this, Bezos wrote on Twitter on Sunday night, ‘Listen and be open, but don’t let anyone tell you who you are. Today, Amazon is one of the most successful companies in the world and has revolutionized two completely different industries.”

While many people, including Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings, responded positively to that tweet and even praised Bezos, Musk’s response elicited the most reactions. In fact, his single-emoji tweet had garnered more likes and retweets than the Amazon chief’s original.

Musk earlier this year overtook Bezos to become the world’s richest person. On Friday, Musk added $9bn to his wealth in a single day after a deal with investors saw the value of SpaceX rocket above $100bn.

This isn’t the first time Musk has given Bezos a virtual second place medal. After passing off Amazon boss’s wealth, SpaceX co-founder celebrates by saying Forbes In an email that he wants to send Bezos a huge silver medal.

“I am sending Jeffrey B. a giant statue of the number ‘2’ with a silver medal,” Musk wrote in a brief email. Forbes in September.

Rivals have gone back and forth as the world’s richest people in recent months, and are embroiled in a race to revolutionize the space industry. Musk has publicly courted controversy by calling Bezos a “copy cat” for his venture into space with Blue Origin.

Last year, Amazon also ventured into the self-driving car business by buying a startup that would compete with Musk’s Tesla.
