Email Mistake Outs Hospital Staff Who Aren’t Vaccinated Against COVID

The Ottawa hospital has apologized for the breach of confidentiality that reportedly affected hundreds of people.

A hospital system in Ontario, Canada has apologized for the names of staff members who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 Accidentally leaked.

The Ottawa hospital’s human resources department sent a system-generated email last week to unvaccinated employees, inviting them to participate in an education module on the shots. Email did not blind carbon copy of their email addresses, according to Diverse Media reports.


Instead, employees’ email addresses appeared in full in the “To” section and were visible to everyone else on the list.

“The email was immediately recalled and all copies were removed,” a spokesperson said in an emailed statement on Wednesday. “An apology and explanation was sent to the affected staff members.”

According to the statement, the hospital staff are expected to be vaccinated against COVID-19. He should have received his first dose by September 7. Ottawa citizen reported.

“Health care workers have worked tirelessly to protect our communities during the pandemic, and they deserve protection and support so that they can do their jobs safely and to the best of their abilities,” the hospital said in its statement.

It is not clear how many hospital staff were named in the email, and therefore have not been vaccinated. but CTV News OttawaQuoting a hospital source, it could be 391 out of a total of 11,600 staff members.
