Liz – who has partnered with The Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) for her breast cancer campaign – admitted that she finds it harder to stay in shape than ever before, but doesn’t let the change in appearance bother her.

She confessed: ‘I’m at least 10 pounds heavier than I was 20 years ago but I don’t care.

‘I probably eat a little more now, but I don’t eat takeaways and only drink soda once in a blue moon. Life is too short to be on a super strict diet.

‘My weakness is peanut butter – if it’s in the house, I’ll put my finger in the jar every time I pass it!’

Discussing the secrets behind her stunning physique, she said: ‘I love working in my garden and I’m never happier than when riding a streamer. I walk my dogs a lot too.

‘I don’t do any set exercises but can’t sit still for long. I actually eat a lot, but eat very little junk or processed foods and don’t drink much alcohol. I try to eat a lot of vegetables and never eat in between meals.’

Liz has been kept busy working on her Elizabeth Hurley Beach collection, and insists she won’t stop modeling any time soon.

‘There may be a time when I don’t want to model swimwear and don’t want to go on massive kaftans, but currently I am still enjoying it.’

Talking about her son’s career, she said: ‘I am very proud of Damien and his modeling career.

‘He has achieved all his success through his hard work and I am his biggest supporter and cheerleader!’

To encourage more women to get themselves tested, Liz has spent the month talking about the symptoms of breast cancer.

The reason is close to her heart, as Liz lost her grandmother to breast cancer in the early nineties.

While advising women who may be reluctant to get themselves checked for signs of cancer, Liz told MailOnline: ‘While it can be scary or uncomfortable to examine your breasts, it can lead to early detection. And improving survival rates is the key.

‘Self-checking is really important; I have personally met many women who have discovered the lump themselves, including many of my close friends.’

She continued: ‘By becoming familiar with your own breasts, it should be easier to recognize or feel any changes.

‘I check myself every month in front of the mirror. I would advise everyone to do the same and try to see it as a part of their monthly routine and not as something to be afraid of.’

Liz’s comments come after ongoing research by The Estee Lauder Companies showed that half of all women are not checking their breasts regularly.
