Is Facebook going to change its name?

The tech giant is planning to announce a rebrand that will include renaming its company, according to The Verge.

The move would put Facebook and other apps including Instagram, WhatsApp and Oculus under one umbrella company with a new name, the report said. It is similar in structure to Alphabet, the parent company of Google.


The report said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg plans to discuss the rebrand at the company’s Connect conference on October 28, but may announce something soon.

In a statement emailed to USA Today, Facebook said it does not comment on rumors or speculation.

Earlier this week, Facebook Turns out it was hiring 10,000 people in the European Union over the next five years to help build the platform, which proponents of the Metaverse believe could eventually replace the Internet.
