“It came in our direction and came at a hellish speed and ripped me and the girl apart,” he said.

Elbasan city police chief Tase was later arrested and was to appear in court in Velora city on Friday.

Investigators claim that police were driving their family members from Porto Palermo to Potam – about 5 miles away – when the accident happened.

Law enforcement officials said Tase resolved before dropping off family members with buoys marked through an area clearly designated for swimmers and hitting young Jonada just 15 feet from the shoreline.

A police spokesman told local outlets that the boat’s propeller blades caused “serious injuries, which resulted in immediate death.”

The Daily Mail reported that Tase has been charged with “recklessly murder” and fired 15 police officers who were supposed to guard the beach that day.
