Law enforcement activity has been reported outside the Washington, DC home of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, NBC News reports.
Several FBI agents have gathered at the property. A spokesperson would not elaborate on the network as to why they were there.
Granthshala The Bureau has asked for confirmation and explanation of the reasons for its activity.
Mr. Derispaska is the founder of Basic Element, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Russia.
She is known to have had an affair with Paul Manafort, a former political adviser to Trump, whom she employed from 2005 to 2009.
The former president of the Trump campaign was indicted on fraud charges stemming from former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Former President Donald Trump pardoned Manafort in his last month in office.
Mr Deripaska, an influential billionaire and an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been blacklisted by the United States.
Washington previously lifted sanctions against its two main companies, aluminum giant Rusal and its parent company En+ Group.
He sued to lift the ban but his suit was dismissed in June.
