Johnson died suddenly of natural causes in July 2020 at the age of 56.

At her funeral last summer, Johnson’s family asked for donations in exchange for flowers to be given to MVT, a cause the singer has vocally supported on her social media accounts. MVT is a charity that helps protect, protect and improve UK music venues.

A recent memorial event in his honor raised £18,000 for the trust.
