Gabby Petito’s mother has called the latest comments made by the Laundry family’s lawyer about her daughter’s death as “trash”.
After the Wyoming coroner confirmed that Ms. Petito had been strangled and that her body had been left in the wild for four weeks, Brian Laundry’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, issued a statement saying that his client was just a “person of interest” in her murder. “Keeping up.
“His words are garbage. Keep talking,” WFAL’s JB Biunno. According to, Nicole Schmidt said in a text message
The war of words came after Teton County Coroner Brent Blue ruled to strangle her death at a press conference on Tuesday.
He described the death as a case of “domestic violence” but would not say who was responsible, adding that law enforcement had to determine.
“While Brian Laundry has been charged with unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to Gabby, Brian is believed to be the only person of interest in connection with the passing of Gabby Pettito,” Mr. Bertolino said.
“Brian is still missing at this time and we will address the fraud charge pending against him when he is found.”
The autopsy investigation included analysis by a forensic anthropologist, a full-body CatScan, and samples were also given to a forensic entomologist.
Citing Wyoming state law, which only allows the manner and cause of death to be released, Dr. Blue also declined to provide any further details about the injuries found on Ms. Petito’s body. In what condition was it found or whether the toxicology test turned out to be in any way. Drugs in his system.
Dr. Blue confirmed that Ms. Petito was not pregnant and that Ms. Petito’s family was informed of the results ahead of the press conference.
Details of her death came as officers continued to search for her fiancé, Brian Laundry, who was traveling with her before she died.
Ms Petito’s body was found in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park on 19 September, several weeks after Mr Laundry returned to Florida in a van without her.
Miss Petito went missing during a cross-country road trip with Mr Laundry, who disappeared from her family home on 13 September and is the subject of a major search that is still ongoing.
