Gabby Petito’s mother says she erupted in anger when police informed her that Brian Laundry had moved back to Florida without his daughter.
“I yelled at the detective, I said, ‘Where’s my daughter,'” Nicole Schmidt told Fox News .
“The night I learned that the van was in Florida, I knew instinctively that my daughter was no longer here,” she said.
Ms. Petito’s mother, stepfather Jim Schmidt, father Joseph Pettito and stepmother Tara Pettito sat down for an interview with Fox News on Thursday.
Ms Schmidt said the long wait for an answer to what happened to her daughter had only added to her anguish, and she again asked Mr Laundry to hand herself over to authorities.
“I’m feeling upset, you know. Turn yourself on. It’s getting more and more frustrating as the days go by. I don’t know what’s taking so long.”

Mr Laundry “knows everything,” believes Ms Schmidt, and hopes she is found alive so she can tell him what happened.
“She is our missing piece in the puzzle to find out what happened,” said Jim Schmidt, Ms. Petito’s stepfather.
“What happened there? We won’t know until they find him.”
Mr Laundry’s search was once again focused on the Carlton Reserve near the Laundry family home on Thursday.
Mr. Laundry’s father Chris Laundry joined the searchers in search of his son after receiving a request from law enforcement.
Mr Schmidt also revealed that the couple began planning their cross-country road trip after their wedding was postponed due to COVID-19.
“They put it on hold,” said Mr. Schmidt.
