But fans online love the vests, with one calling the new outfit a “sartorial trustee.”
One Twitter user said: “Who wore Gareth Southgate’s clothes? Is he wearing a polo shirt, shirt or pajama under that cheap suit?”
Another added: “Just catching up on Gareth Southgate’s blue polo shirt with a light gray suit and a no-belt sartorial travesti. Hope it doesn’t catch on like a waistcoat.”
