George Clooney Starring as the Caped Crusader in 1997’s “Batman & Robin”
George Clooney is here again talking about his role as “Batman.”
This time, the 60-year-old filmmaker was at the DGA Theater in New York City after a screening of his upcoming film, “The Tender Bar.” starring Ben Affleck, Ty Sheridan (“Ready Player One”), Lily Rabe (“American Horror Story”) and Christopher Lloyd (“Back to the Future”).
And, once again, a reporter in attendance had to ask Clooney for a hot take on playing the Caped Crusader in “Batman & Robin” in 1997 — and whether or not he’d do it again.
Why George Clooney Won’t Let Amal Watch ‘Batman & Robin’: ‘I Want My Wife To Have Some Respect For Me’
“I did a superhero film and I ruined it so much that they wouldn’t let me near the set,” Oscar winning actor.
Referring to his interview, he said, “I don’t want to get into all the nipples of the bat,” last year with howard stern, in which he advises costume designers to spot nukes in the new batsuit for the upcoming DC Comics “The Flash.”
He also said at the time that he was “physically hurt” to re-watch Joel Schumacher’s “Batman & Robin”.

The actor then distanced himself from superhero films to discuss his strengths as a filmmaker. Clooney explained, “My job, where my bread is buttered, is the films I grew up on in the ’60s and ’70s, which are prime time for American filmmaking, which were all story-based.”
Let’s hope wife Amal Alamuddin Clooney is a fan of his period work – because she won’t be seeing her turn as Batman anytime soon. Just last week at another press junket for my new job, Amal revealed She said that her husband “won’t let me see the movie”, she said.
“I want my wife to have some respect for me,” said George.
His new film “The Tender Bar” will premiere in cinemas nationwide on December 22 and on Amazon Prime Video on January 7.
